Now posting the Japanese drama "Ace Wo Nerae" aka "Aim For The Ace". This drama was recommended to me by Tommy (Thanks a bunch).I havent started watching this drama yet, but it seems interesting. Its a bit different then the previous dramas that I have seen since it is sports related. I'm pretty curious as to how things will play out. Synopsis: On her first day at Nishi High School, the first year Hiromi Oka is inspired by one of her sempais, Ryuuzaki Ochoufuji Reika to join the tennis club. The arrival of the new (Davis Cup winner) tennis coach Munakata Jin upsets the varsity team line up, and Oka finds herself as a member of the competing team. New to the game of tennis and unsure of herself, Oka has to struggle against the torments of the rival whom she displaced and severe challenges of the new coach to find her place on the awarded Nishi tennis team.

Lanteus 02-11-2007 09:52:27 Liked this series a lot, though some of the acting could have been better, and the dialogue of some of the characters could have been improved upon. I still really recommend *Ace wo Nerae* though, it's fun to watch the lead character, Hiromi Oka, struggle and succeed, even in the face of hazing by her jealous teammates, as her love for the sport and game of tennis drives her to greater and greater heights of effort and skill while those with lesser talent can only look on. The lead actress is also very good, showing a convincing and engaging performance as her struggle against her teammates and an arrogantly-supportive coach push her to new levels of pain, loss and triumph. (The actor playing the coach could have been a lot better, basically he wore the same wooden facial expression throughout the series, reminds me of Chuck Norris, blah.) Regardless, I recommend this series a lot because the story and the lead actress are both worth it.
