This is a solid drama with a likable cast. Especially with crown prince and princess roles.

The costuming with both old and modern clothes was nothing less than amazing. Loved the details.

The grandmother is a glorious actress. I love her sincerity. It provided some of the most emotional moments in the drama.

The love story was a push/pull type. I think there was a nice balance in the struggle to be open with someone who is not open.

I think the one-sided unrequited love was too much. Almost overwhelming. Even though the love triangle characters were young adults and from different backgrounds, they were all sheltered to an extent.

Things I adored - the music, the teddy bears and the friends of the couple. Plus, I really like the worldly daughter. That was refreshing.

All in all, a good drama. I would watch it again.

I knew by the sheer amount viewers and the ratings during its original run I had to see this drama.

I think that the fans built up Goong so much that it couldn't live up to the impossible expectations I had for it. I did like the alternate universe with such a detail to the palace and the costumes, however the relationship between Shin Chae-kyung and Lee Shin somewhat fell flat.

The absolute best parts were when the prince and the peasant were both having their 'fish out of water' experiences.

Don't let the reviews build up your hopes too high. It is a good drama, but you can decide if it's a great.

The more i watched the more i liked it. Took me a little time to get into it but in the end it was completely worth watching [rate:4]

I give 4 stars because its entertaining and funny at times but Coffee Prince is just SO much better

and nothing seems to compare

I started watching Goong because Yoon Eun Hye is the main character and she is adorable. She is so different here from her Go Eun Chan character in Coffee Prince. Kool actor!
One thing i love about this drama is the music throughout! Very catchy! Quite a nice story too. Right now im on Episode 9 and its getting interesting! I recommend seeing it for fun, but its not one of those "Must See" series.
...GO COFFEE PRINCE! teheheheheh. :lol:

I'll be honest...after reading the manga I was expecting to be more like in the manga, the manga seems more comic and more dramatic too...just thinking at some stuff that here are missing...Plus her family seems to be a bit depicted differently, but well yeah the series came first and usually a book is far better than a movie.
I must say that I prefer Yul's looks here, it would really be hard for me to dislike him, hehe.
But I'll definitely watch it all I want to see the ending, I'm so curious.

I really loved Yoon Eun Hye how she loked in this drama...the story as ok,i'm not in to history type but is intresting to view a litlle bit of asian culture

I watched this because of all the good reviews and stars left. But I have to give my own reflection and this may not be your view so just ignore if you don't agree.

Because of the excellent role Yoon Eun Hye played in Coffee Prince (I watched CP before watching GOONG) everytime I see her in a drama she looks and walks in a masculine way. I believe she is a tomboy and so when she has to do love scenes with these gorgeous male actors, she is not convincing. I just dont sense chemistry between her and male actors she has to do scenes with. She seems cold in her dealings with male actors in a way that is hard to describe but easy to see on screen.

Because she resembles a guy so much it doesn't matter how much makeup, fur dresses and hair wigs they put on her she has that boyish face, features and mannerism. I just couldn't enjoy this drama and appreciate it because of this. She just seem too cold towards men. Maybe she has had a rough career so far...IDK but she seems to tense...like a man.

She played an excellent role in CP but I really can't watch anything "feminine" she tries to act in at the moment. Maybe that will change...maybe not. I wish her all the best. [rate:1]
