Synopsis: As a young "orphan", Jo Hyun Jae received horrible treatment while growing up under his aunt (father's sister). When his uncle (mother's brother) comes back from Italy, his uncle takes him from his unhappy life. Growing up under a priest uncle in a cathedral, Jo Hyun Jae secretly wishes of being a priest. Years later, Soo Ae comes to live in the cathedral orphanage. Although at first Soo Ae refused to become friends with him, the two become the best of friends throughout their high school years. In college, they move out of the cathedral into a small home in the city, where they help eachother out. Although Soo Ae loves Jo, she hides her feeings from Jo because he wants to become a priest. In the midst, Jo gets to know Ji Jin Hee, a rebellious guy who fell for Soo Ae long ago. As Ji tries really hard to fit into Jo and Soo Aeh's close relationship, feelings become revealed. Through this all, Jo encounters an emotional dilemma between his dream and his feelings of love.

I cried so much and experienced physical heartache (no kidding), that I had to take a few weeks break before I could watch the last episodes. I used to hate sad dramas, but I am actually looking for good ones such as this one. In between I like to watch comedies to avoid getting depression.

kayani   05-03-2009 13:20:36 biyaneh .. i usually hate sad ending drama's and avoid them . i wathced this drama months back but still the lead actoress biyaneh .. it echo's in my mind again and again. i imediately deleted this drama after watching it . I recommend this one who can take sad endings 5 out of 5.

I loved it so much that i found myself watching 2episodes at once ;D We find the typical love triangle but the story line is quite interesting. The end is so sod for the 3 of them (it's typical in almost all KDramas) but it didn't really disappointed me: not too much, not too little, it just takes what it needs The actors were all awesome. I usually sympathize with the second guy (Jung Woo Jin in this case) but this time, they all broke my heart :'( There's one thing i couldn't understand: the story between Yu Ri and that guy (the singer), i think it has no meaning. The drama would have been as great as it is with or without it. Maybe they should have developped it more or just not put it at all Anyway, i recommend this drama to all KDramas fanatics (like me ;) ), it's reaaly a good one and worth watching it i give it a full mark

SuMaYa86   03-24-2009 12:39:44 @ miyucamui : you're right, the leading female character was also one of the main characters in the KDRama "Emperor of the sea" which is my favorite KDrama by the way, it's because i loved her character Jung Hwa in the "Eperor of the sea", i decided to watch this one (Love letter) I hope i wouldn't be deceived :-)

assilemhoney   03-19-2009 09:23:40 it's the saddest love story i ever watched... i cried a lot while watching this movie, especially the last two episodes... the totally heartbreaking scene is when the guy became a priest... but still loving the girl with all his heart. :'(
