chaarim1.jpgNow posting the Japanese Movie "Chakushin Ari" aka "One Missed Call". I've previously posted Chakushin Ari, the Japanese drama. Now you can see the movie that started it all. If you've seen this one before, let us know what you thought of it by rating it in your comment.

Cast
Tsutsumi Shinichi
Shibasaki Kou
Ishibashi Renji
Year Released: 2003
Director: Takashi Miike
Duration: 112 Minutes

Synopsis: Takashi Miike is a busy man, but his hard schedule doesn't seem to be affecting the quality of his films. "Chakushin Ari," released in theaters in early 2004, is the story of college student Yuki Nakamura, played by Shibasaki Kou (Battle Royale). Bored at a singles party, Yuki waits for her friend Yoko, who arrives to the party late after finishing work. While Yoko is changing clothes in the ladies room, she receives a phone call with a spooky ring tone she has never heard before. To make things creepier, the call appears to be from her own phone. Yoko listens to the message, which is dated three days in the future, and hears her own voice saying "It's started raining." The short message is followed by a bloodcurdling scream. Several days later, the events heard in the message actually occur, and Yoko meets a gruesome death.
However, Yoko isn't the last person to hear this strange ring tone. Others begin getting similar calls and meeting similar fates, and Yumi finds herself in a race against time to solve the mystery before her own number comes up...

This was a good movie...but for some reason there are about 30-40 minutes missing between parts 1 and 2. After the scene at the bottom of the elevator shaft, you briefly see the police officers walking down a hallway before it cuts to Yumi and Yamashita-san sitting in her apartment. You miss Yamashita-san's backstory and how he's connected to the story and why he's helping Yumi...as well as some critical plot points Yamashita-san provides.

avatar This one is the best one I think. Kou Shibasaki (I know her from Battle Royale) did a fantastic job.

avatar This film i truly loved, best in the entire trilogy! Its a shame that it was horribily brutalized in the us remake, but for this classic , i give a 5 star rating [rate:5]

avatar Chakushin Ari is one of my favourite J-horror I know. Actually, I thought that the first movie was way more scarier than the third movie (haven't seen 2nd) but the third movie was the best (in my opinion). I didn't like the first movie as much as the third one because it had alot of unnecessary plot stuff. For example, I didn't understand what was the point of Yumi holding the jar of whatever it was when she was at the hospital. Also, the end was sort of confusing (at first).

Other than that, Chakushin Ari is a very good movie, and has loads of scary scenes as well. Enjoy downloading.

P.S. If Hollywood mess up One Missed Call, they will pay >:O
Thanks for the excellent movie
